A slow moving system is dumping a lot of rain over the Gulf Coast with a slow moving storm system. Some places along the Gulf Coast have seen over 10 inches of rain with this system, and it is not over yet. Pensacola, Florida has already received over 13 inches of rain. The last time Pensacola officially received more rain in a single calendar day was October 5, 1934, with 15.29 inches. The storm has brought almost 5 inches of rain to Biloxi, Mississippi. Mobile, Alabama has already picked up over 4 inches of rain.
More showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop tonight and into Sunday night, producing periods of very heavy rainfall. An additional 4-8 inches of rain is possible through Sunday night, with locally higher totals possible. This could bring a total of 20 inches of rain in some areas.
